With this delivery, an important period has been finalised for already the 5th Flinter Vlootmaatschap.

The ship will be delivered under the Antigua & Barbuda flag, to ensure the ship can take optimal measures against piracy. To reach her European trading area, the ship will have to pass the Suez canal, and will therefore have to pass the Gulf of Aden. Under Dutch flag, it is unfortunately impossible to board armed guards on the ship. After several necessary supplies have come on board, the MS Flinter Rose will embark on it’s maiden voyage around the 20th of February.

Furthermore, the classification society has determined upon delivery that the deadweight of the Rose is 120 tons more than expected, and the cruising speed is 1.1 knots higher than expected (with the same fuel consumption).

We wish the Flinter Rose a safe journey!
